We use the word Large simply to distinguish carpets that are suited to large rooms, any carpet larger that 300cm x 200cm, could best explain a large carpet. It is very important to keep in mind what type of large carpet you are looking for whether it is an all over design or a central medallion, or whether your furniture will sit on top of the carpet or around it. Large carpets are made in all areas of Persia; traditionally nomadic tribes did not make large rugs simply because they had to pack up their looms frequently when moving around. In recent years many of the nomads have settled in villages and have been weaving large tribal rugs for many years now.
